About This Course

We are living in an era of unprecedented longevity, yet we continue to rely on outdated, ageist scripts to understand older adulthood. This course replaces prejudice with research, redefining our experiences and desires for this pioneering stage in human history. We tackle the big issues head-on: separating scientific data on healthy aging from "snake oil" and mythology; moving beyond retirement as the sole framework for a stage of life that can span 20 to 40 years; designing homes, cities, and policies that support flourishing across the entire lifespan; and finding ways to make this extra third of life meaningful
